DWTS Season 13: Some people just don't like magic tricks

Last night's Dancing with the Stars results show was a bit of a shocker and left me with a void to fill for the rest of the season. As I said in my predictions, I had hoped it would be Nancy Grace and Hope Solo fighting it out for the last safe spot, but for the first time in a long time, Hope managed to garner enough votes to avoid the bottom two.

So who joined Nancy and Tristan to sweat it out on the ballroom floor? David Arquette and partner Kym. Yep. I guess no one liked his bag of tricks on Monday night enough to vote. But he was going to be okay, right? Nancy was going to head home, right?  I mean, Nancy's Jive fell flat compared to David's routine and by the look on Nancy and Tristan's face, they knew it too.

Before we got to see the final results, we were treated to a number of performances as usual on the show. But this week seemed to go by faster. Was it because The Biebs, himself, was in the house? Performing twice, the second time was a holiday song with Boyz II Men as his backup singers (why are they playing back up to Justin Bieber?). The ballroom seemed to have Bieber Fever and infected JR Martinez who started belting out the chorus of "Never Say Never" while So You Think You Can Dance alum Alison Holker rocked a purple suit dancing a strong Paso/Tango/Contempo dance with Derek.

The spotlight special was much more emotional than the results and I'm pretty sure it had viewers reaching for their tissue box. A 14-year-old ballerina-in-training had to relearn how to dance after surgery for a brain tumour. She was given the opportunity to show her love of dance and her amazing talent to the ballroom audience who were on their feet.

And sadly, when we got to the end of the show, we were informed that David and Kym were eliminated much to the relief of Nancy and Tristan. The fact that she is much more popular than David is beyond me, but if we saw Nancy go, we wouldn't have heard David bring out his inner Maks: "There must be a mistake. This is my show."

Oh David Arquette. You'll be missed.
