Whether it's because you want to wind down after a long day at the office, you just love dance and have a passion for flamenco, or you are a professional dancer looking to hone your skills, the Esmeralda Enrique Academy of Spanish Dance welcomes you!

Located in downtown Toronto, the Academy is the hub of flamenco life in Toronto. We offer classes in flamenco dance, often to live guitar and singing, Classical Spanish dance, castanets, technique, Sevillanas, traditional Spanish folk dances, and flamenco singing. Many dancers, singers and guitarists have started their lifelong careers here, and it has changed many lives over the past 30 years.

The Academy is open to students of all ages, from absolute beginners to advanced and professionals. Each summer there is a week-long dance intensive with a guest teacher from Spain. The Academy also offers students chances to perform at various events year-round, with a full recital every June.

Established by Esmeralda Enrique in 1982,  sound training in flamenco, classical Spanish and regional dance is offered to all students whether they take class for recreation, to gain grace and poise or with the hope of pursuing a professional career. Working closely with dedicated teachers, our students are stimulated and challenged in a positive atmosphere. The satisfaction that comes with achievement benefits many other aspects of their lives.

This year the Esmeralda Enrique Academy of Spanish Dance and the associated Esmeralda Enrique Spanish Dance Company celebrate 30 years! The students of the Academy perform regularly at festivals, weddings and corporate events. The studio also hosts potluck afternoons in which singers, guitarists and dancers have the chance to interact and dance with each other as well as Summer Intensives with guest teachers from Spain. EESDC has done recent performances in Quebec, Vancouver and various Toronto venues.
