Choose your 2013 Summer Dance Intensive Part IV

Summer is here which means classes and recitals are nearly complete. To keep your body in dance mode in the off season, we've compiled a list of summer dance intensives happening across Canada. Take a look to see who is coming to your area!


Royal Winnipeg Ballet School (Winnipeg)
Open to dancers ages nine to 18, a two week program offering classes in Dance History, Ballet, Pointe (at teaching staff’s discretion), conditioning, repertoire/variations, modern, creative movement, improvisation, character/Spanish, jazz/lyrical jazz, music, and art. The school also offers an Adult Summer Intensive.


Ballet Jorgen (Toronto)
Programs at five levels are being offered by the company with spots in the level four and junior company are by audition only. Dancing at least six hours a day, classes focus on ballet, jazz, repertoire, hip hop and modern.

Canadian Children’s Dance Theatre (Toronto)
Offering two programs in July, the first (SunDance) is for dancers specializing in RAD and contemporary dance. Dancers will participate in classes in repertoire and composition, as well as ballet and modern technique. SummerArts is a full day session made up of creative dance, music, visual arts, drama and more for kids ages four to eight.

Pegasus Studios (Toronto)
Taking place in July, students can come for one, two or all three weeks, the program is designed to challenge mature dancers in their usual dance disciplines as well as new styles. Camps available for all ages.

Randolph Academy for the Performing Arts (Toronto)
With the Randolph Academy’s Triple Threat summer camp, you don’t have to decide between dance camp, theatre camp, or music camp – you can have all three wrapped up in one. Campers can explore the arts no matter what their level of development. Camp is geared to students from Grades 3 to 12.

School of Toronto Dance Theatre (Toronto)
Designed for professionals, pre-professionals, and students with a strong background in dance and at least one year of serious training, dancers train in contemporary barre, Graham technique, and new creation/repertory; classes will be augmented by sessions devoted to coaching and body work. Classes begin in July.
